Two annual reports from the Fiscal Research Center serve as convenient guides for legislators, the media, and the public during Georgia's legislative session: Georgia's Taxes: A Summary of Major State and Local Taxes and Georgia's Rankings Among the States, a report that compares Georgia with other states in several budget and economic metrics.
Budgeting Best Practices
Our partnership with the New York-based Volcker Alliance has produced several key publications examining the fiscal practices of all 50 state governments to improve overall governance, public transparency, and sustainability—including the post-pandemic analysis of State Tax Cuts After the Pandemic: Strategies to Sustain Fiscal Health.
